BUDAPEST WILL HOST AGAIN THE UIM F1 event
Budapest, November 22, 2001
The Minister of Youth and Sport Dr. Tamas Deutsch, the Mayor of
Budapest Dr. Gabor Demszxy and the President of the Hungarian Federation
Mr. Botond Szalma stated officially that the 14th UIM F1 Grand Prix
of Hungary will be held in Budapest during the Danube Festival on
June 23, 2002.
Many activities will take place in Budapest during that week-end
such as fire-works, etc. The local organisation will still be handled
by the Technical Sport Olympic Foundation and by its President Mr.
Jozsef Andics.
The UIM F1 Promoter Mr. Nicolo di San Germano quoted: To have the
race in Budapest during the Danube Festival fits perfectly well
with our marketing strategy to have the races in the centre of the
most beautiful cities of the world.
The organisers of the Hungarian Grand Prix have a tremendous experience
and I am convinced that this event will attract many visitors not
only from Hungary but from all over Europe.
The final calendar of the 2002 Championship will be announced during
the traditional press conference in January.
