NORTH AMERICA TO SEE U.I.M. F1 SERIES ON SPEED!

Abu Dhabi, UAE: (08th of August, 2003) - The U.I.M. F1 World Championship for power boating will mark its 7th season of presenting the globes most popular and closely watched series to the North American audience as it presents the start of its 2003 campaign with a "Season Preview" show airing on Sunday, August 10th at 10:30 am Eastern Daylight Time, 7:30 Pacific Daylight Time on SPEED Channel.

It is the 7th season that the series has aired on SPEED and its previous name SPEEDVISION since picking up the series during the 1997 campaign when American Scott Gillman won the first of two titles on the U.I.M. F1 tour.

The U.I.M. F1 series attracts an average driver count of 23 starts from 13 different nations racing on three different continents during an 8 month long season that runs from April to December. This years 9 race series will introduce new venues in Singapore and Sunset Beach, Saudi Arabia along with the established races in Portimao, Portugal; Helsinki, Finland; Cagliari, Sardinia in Italy; Stralsund, Germany; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Last season the U.I.M. F1 tour had three drivers from North America in the series with Colorado driver Scott Gillman leading the way in his 6th year with St. Louis, Missouri native Mike Seebold and Louisiana driver Jay Price joining the series on a part time basis. In 2003 Gillman is back for a 7th season as lead driver with the Emirates Team based out of Abu Dhabi looking for his 3rd World Title.
