Cappellini
and Tamoil still together and aiming for 10 world titles
Milano, 28 January 2004 - Guido Cappellini and Tamoil renewed their sponsorship
agreement with the shared ambition to obtain 10 world titles. The agreement
between the Italian pilot, who recently obtained his 8th World Title on
the water in Abu Dhabi, and the petroleum group was concluded during the
last few days and is now official. Tamoil will appear on the Cappellini
powerboat as its Main Sponsor and the Team will bear its name for the 2004
Season which starts in Mumbai, India, on the 7th March.. The team-mate
of the 8 times World Champion will be the young Marcello Menegatto.
The partnership between Tamoil and Cappellini, which
started in May 2003 has achieved important success, both in terms of its
results and image. Amongst the joint
aims there is the mutual desire to establish a new world speed record on
water. It will be a perfect challenge for both "champions", Cappellini
and Tamoil, the first as leader in the Formula One World Championship Powerboating
and the second a young and dynamic petroleum group, experiencing strong
growth both in the Italian and European market generally.
Guido Cappellini: "I am most proud of the renewal of
this agreement. I gain additional satisfaction, from the fact that
this renewal was arrived at after one year of the parties working together;
a 'test', which clearly convinced our partner of our professionalism and
the potential of our sporting discipline. Our common goal is to obtain
10 World Titles."
Francesca C. Arata,
manager of the corporate image of Tamoil: "We are very happy to renew this
collaboration with Mr. Cappellini, especially in view of the excellent
results obtained during the last year. Tamoil believes in sport and its
values: success in sport is a result of team work, loyalty, competitive
spirit, capacity to confront challenges and respect for others and it is
these characteristics which should symbolise the Tamoil F1 Team of 2004."
