Charlotte, NC – May 9, 2005 – Speedway Group Inc., announces today the partnership of Bluefish Concierge of Palm Beach, Florida, a forefront leader in making wishes happen to the rich and famous around the world, with a sport that is regarded as the fast, edgy sport of the 21st century, international F1 powerboat racing and it’s two groups, the U.I.M. F1 World Championship and the ChampBoat Racing Series.

The U.I.M. F1 World Championship for powerboating was born in 1981 and features races that attract hundreds of thousands of people from around its 8 month racing calendar that begins at the Grand Prix of Portugal on the 21-22 of May and ends its season with back to back races in the Middle East in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in UAE in mid December. These 18 foot boats that weight just 1100 pounds are powered by 400 horsepower outboard V-6 Mercury engines capable of reaching speeds of 140 mph while flying through the water and turning around corners at up to 6 g’s in the corners. The current world champion, American Scott Gillman of California who drives for the Emirates Racing Team, has reached the top step in this sport for the third time in his 8 years on the world stage.

The ChampBoat racing series in North America begins its season a week after Portugal on the 28-29th of May just outside Baton Rouge in the historic town of New Roads in the state of Louisiana. Their 2005 season sees this series traveling to picturesque downtown and metro locations of cities such as Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, St. Louis and San Diego just to name a few. Tim Seebold is defending champion and is a 4-time title holder who is hoping for a ring for every finger with a title this season ahead.
