EXCITING UAE CLIMAX TO WORLD F1 SEASON
LAUSANNE, Switzerland - 16th of October – Never
has it been a better time to get in touch with your travel agent
and book a few days in the glorious sunshine of Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Prices from all parts of the world represent excellent value to enjoy
a pre-Christmas sun tan and also witness one of the most exciting
finishes to an World F1 season for several years.
When Guido Cappellini hit that huge turn mark in China, while honding
a commanding lead he opened the way for arch rival Scott Gillman
to grab a 5 point lead at the top of the points table. If Cappellini
wins in Abu Dhabi and Gillman is 2nd, they will head for the Sharjah
finale on 65 points each.....now that would be a cliff-hanger.
Third
place Thani Al Qamzi has a faster boat than Scott's but he suffered
a gearbox problem in China while in 2nd place. Thani's dreams for
world championship glory are still alive if he wins both UAE races
taking him to 71 points but if Gillman followed him home in 2nd place
both times, Scott would still have 80 points and if Guido was runner-up
both times he would have 75 points....Thani needs his Emirate partner
Gillman and Tamoil's reigning champ to retire or finish outside the
top five, maybe wishful thinking.
However 4th place Dave Trask could give his Australian XPV team
a Christmas present to droll over as a bronze medal is quite possible
as he is on 21 points with 40 still to be won.
Already the tension is mounting for this exciting UAE finale.
