TRASK BROTHERS READY TO MAKE A STATEMENT IN CHINA!
THOUSANDS OF RACE FANS EXPECTED FOR FRIDAY’S EVENT!

XI’AN, China – Wednesday, October 03, 2007 – Its taken time. It’s taken more than one bout of bad luck to finally “get into the game”. But the XPV Racing Team looks like it has finally turned the corner.

This team from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia of Bob and David Trask is now ready to push for a world title as the U.I.M. F1 World Championship for power boating enters its 3rd race of the season at the Grand Prix of Xi’an in its 6th visit to China since 1995 for Friday’s main event on the ancient Yellow River.

“We have had a great opportunity all summer to race in our national series to get ready to push for a championship on the world stage,” stated older brother Bob. “We have brought with us this weekend our new boat and feel this may be the last added ingredient needed to make a serious push for the World Championship.”

Younger brother David took this years title on the Australian F1 tour in a gigantic one on one sibling war with Bob that lasted all season long. Sometimes, it got physical as well.

“Bob and I have been competing with each other since we can remember, so whether it was for toys when we were children, or today, for racing victories, it’s a good heated rivalry”, said David. “The series now has 6 races in the next 70 days and we must all get it right in a hurry or else. There’s no time to make mistakes. We don’t plan to do so with the crew of professionals we have working for us.”

True to form the XPV Racing organization is one of the largest on the circuit and most members of the talented crew have been with each other for many years. Now, the question remains, can recent success bring more of the same?

The problem the team has had is finishing off the weekend. David, had pole position at the last event at the Grand Prix of France only to drop out while being in a position to take his first ever victory. Just 4 points so far for this season for the younger of the two Trask brothers who earned his first podium here in China a year ago trailing points leader Scott Gillman of the Emirates Team by 31 points.

Older brother Bob finished 7th in the championship last season, two spots behind David and now searches for both his points of the year as well as his first ever podium in his 34th career start on Friday.

The Trask brothers have come a long way from early days when they were known as the “Trash Brothers” when they first came onto the circuit 5 years ago and are no longer a surprise when the reach the top 5. Now, lets see if this weekend they can take the next step forward and win for the first time.

The organizers here in the ancient city of Xi’an have rolled out the red carpet to make this another special event here in China with the building of 40,000 seats along the Yellow River along with a nice area on both sides to expand the view to over 100,000 with ease. Some of the largest crowds in the history of the sport have come first the first five events that have taken place here in China and the same is expected for the main event of the 3rd Round of the 2007 U.I.M. F1 World Championship for power boating beginning at 15:00 local time, 09:00 GMT and 04:00 Eastern Daylight Time on the East Coast of the United States.
