THE F1 GRAND PRIX OF CHINA CANCELLED DUE TO HEAVY
FLOODS
Lausanne, August 6th, 1998 - After
3 consecutive successful events in China (Hangzhou in 1995, Wuxi
in 1996, Xiamen in 1997), this year the Chinese Powerboat Federation
selected Wuhan in the Province of Hubei to stage the fourth F1 Powerboat
Grand Prix of China to take place on November 1st;
Due to the heavy floods in the region, the Chinese national Federation
requested the Lausanne (Switzerland) based international promoter
Mr Nicolo di Sangermano to cancel the event for logistical reasons.
All the transport organised by Swisspost International will be rearranged
in order to bring the circus directly from Europe to the United
Arab Emirates where the last leg of the World Championship will
be held on December 3/4th 1998.
