U.I.M. F1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SET TO AIR IN NORTH
AMERICA!

LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND - October 23, 1999
- The 1999 U.I.M. F1 World Championship for powerboating begins
its annual "Fall Season" of television airings in North
America, as SPEEDVISION, the first and only 24-hour sports cable
television network in the world, begins broadcasting the series
on Sunday, October 24, 1999 at 17:30 Eastern Daylight Time (21:30
GMT).
"The schedule is perfect for us to show
off our product to the North American audience with the "Prime
Time" airings being on Sunday late afternoon," stated
U.I.M. F1 Promoter Nicolo di San Germano. "It is in our plan
to use the weekend as a choice platform to reach the hard core sports
fans in North America. Also, the 4th quarter gives a
fresh racing picture to fans who are looking for something new in
what is considered the "off season" schedule of the racing
year."
SPEEDVISION, the network features an exciting,
extensive lineup consisting of over 1,500 hours of high octane original
programming designed to help stay ahead of the competition. SPEEDVISION
features authentic coverage of major events.
The 30 minute show format will feature the
hi-lites of the race weekend at each of this years 10 race events.
This includes a brief postcard of the city, hi-lites of qualifying
and the 6 boat "shootout" for pole postion and the race
itself.
Beginning Sunday, October 31st,
Race #1 of the season in Portimao,Portugal will air at 17:00 EST,
while Race#2 from Cagliari, Italy will follow at 17:30 EST. For
the next 8 weeks, this "back to back" format will continue
so you can watch 2 races in a one hour setting.
